BOSTON -- The No. 19 Boston University Terriers and Vermont Catamounts traded late goals in the first period of their Friday night match-up, entering the first intermission in a 1-1 contest. Neither team saw much in the way of offensive flow over the stanza, despite a 14-11 shots advantage for the Terriers.

BU had a golden shot early on in the period when sophomore Cason Hohmann received a bouncing puck alone in the slot for an open chance, but was met by the sliding pad of UVM's Brody Hoffman.

At 18:27, UVM senior assistant captain Chris McCarthy rolled a bouncing backhander past Sean Maguire to become the first Catamout to double-digit goals this season with ten.

As BU went to its second power play of the game, senior Ryan Santana found junior Matt Nieto across the ice for a one-timer at 19:35 to tie the game - the 12th score of the year for the Long Beach, California native.
