BC, which rallied to beat UMass on Friday night in overtime, 5-4 and played from in front the entire night against Northeastern, winning 3-0, benefited from losses by Minnesota and North Dakota over the weekend,
Five teams received first-place votes in the USA Today poll, with BC leading the way with 18 and second-ranked Minnesota earning 11.
New Hampshire, UMass-Lowell and Boston University came in 11, 12 and 13 respectively, with UNH being the biggest mover, going from unranked to 11th, and Lowell taking the biggest plunge after a tough weekend in Colorado, dropping three spots from ninth.
Hockey East rival-in-training Notre Dame holds down the ninth spot in both polls, while Harvard, despite not having played a game, is ranked 17th in the USCHO poll.
Lowell, UNH and BU came in 11, 12 and 13 in the USCHO poll, which also has Northeastern ranked 15th. The Huskies and Wildcats do battle in a home-and-home series this weekend, while BC and Lowell also have a game against each other, Friday at the Tsongas Center and Sunday afternoon at Conte Forum.
