Detroit Catholic Central High School forward Michael Babcock has committed to Merrimack. He is the son of Detroit Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock. He will play for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders in the USHL this upcoming season.

Hockey East returns to Fenway Park for 2014

Hockey East will return to Fenway Park next January for the 2014 Frozen Fenway with some new faces gracing the ice at the iconic ballpark. Providence-Merrimack, Notre Dame-BC will be the two games the first Saturday. Maine-BU and Lowell-Northeastern.

The University of Maine has fired head coach Tim Whitehead after 12 seasons at the helm of the Hockey East school. The Black Bears made it to the NCAA Championship game in two of his first three seasons, but it was downhill from there.

Boston College's hockey program has set such a high bar that this year's team didn't match up. Jerry York is now the winningest coach of all-time in NCAA history. Steven Whitney, Pat Mullane and Patrick Wey went 114-40-12 over four seasons.
