Salisbury Prep forward Matt Muzyka has committed to Quinnipiac University. The Cheshire, Conn. native is entering his third season for Andrew Will's prep school powerhouse. The 1996-born forward is slated to arrive in Hamden for the 2015 season.
Muzyka took time to break into the top six at Salisbury, traditionally one of the strongest New England Prep School programs. He first garnered the attention of college recruiters at last summer's Beantown Classic in Marlborough, Mass. Muzyka is a big forward who could be a solid presence in front of the net at the collegiate level.
Quinnipiac head coach Rand Pecknold continues to improve his talent base in Hamden. The Frozen Four appearance will help, but Pecknold, along with assistants Bill Riga and Reid Cashman, had already built a strong foundation. This is a program on the rise with a tremendous facility and an administration committed to winning.
