UMass-Lowell has a two-goal lead with 8:33 to play in regulation in its quest to win the Hockey East Regular Season Championship. The River Hawks lead Providence 3-1.
Providence evened the score at one just 19 seconds into the third period when TIm Schaller struck for his seventh goal of the season. Stefan Demopoulos assisted on the goal for the Friars.
Josh Holmstrom put UMass-Lowell back up a goal when he scored at the 6:41 mark on a shot from the left side that squeaked past Jon Gillies. Joseph Pendenza and A.J. White assisted on the goal. It was Pendenza's 22nd assist of the season.
Scott Wilson would give the River Hawks their first two-goal lead of the season when he scored on the power play at the 10:29 mark. Derek Arnold was credited with the assist.
