The Florida Everblades of the East Coast Hockey League announced the signing of Maine senior defenseman Mike Cornell to an ATO contract. Cornell became the second Black Bears player of the day to sign with an ECHL team.

Maine senior defenseman Mike Cornell has signed an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) with the Florida Everblades of the East Coast Hockey League. Cornell was a tri-captain for the Black Bears this season. The Franklin, Massachusetts native was a steady defenseman who played with a physical edge for Tim Whitehead's program. He was one of just two Maine defensemen to finish this season in the plus side (+2).

The Everblades are an affiliate of the Charlotte Checkers and Syracuse Crunch (AHL) and the Tampa Bay Lightning (NHL).
