The New York Islanders organization picked up a physical defenseman with the signing of Mike Keenan, a senior defenseman at Dartmouth College. He will report to Bridgeport on an AHL amateur tryout contract.
Dartmouth senior defenseman Mike Keenan, a two-year Captain, has signed an amateur tryout contract (ATO) with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League. The solid, physical defenseman had five goals and 11 assists for 16 points this season. He had 58 penalty minutes.
The Weymouth, Massachusetts native played for the Sioux City Musketeers before matriculating to Dartmouth. Keenan played his prep hockey at Catholic Memorial. He will report immediately to Bridgeport, the AHL affiliate of the New York Islanders.
