Boston College will be without head coach Jerry York as the Eagles attempt to win the program's fourth straight Lamoriello Cup.
Legendary Boston College head coach Jerry York, the all-time wins leader among NCAA coaches, will miss this weekend's Hockey East Tournament at the TD Garden.
York had his second eye surgery since January on Monday. He missed time in January as a result of the first surgery. Associate head coaches Mike Cavanaugh and Greg Brown will lead the team in the interim.
Friday night's semifinal contest against Boston University could have added significance. If BC wins, it will be the last game ever coached by long-time rival Jack Parker. The Terriers' bench boss announced his retirement last week after 40 years at the helm of the BU program.
Boston University and Boston College will square off in the second semifinal at the TD Garden Friday. The first semifinal will feature top seed UMass-Lowell playing the fourth seed, Providence.
