The WCHA made a strong statement as many of the same schools that turned down UAH's bid to join the CCHA accepted them this time.
One of the questions coming out of Alabama-Huntsville being offered an invitation to the WCHA yesterday was how the members voted. Now we know thanks to Todd Milewski of USCHO.com that the answer was yes, yes and more yes.
The WCHA vote to admit Alabama-Huntsville was unanimous. My reaction: Strong statement of unity there.

Despite many of the same schools that turned down Alabama-Huntsville's bid for the CCHA in 2009, it appears that all of them accepted the Chargers this time.
In addition to the unanimous vote, the league will "make a good faith effort" to give Alabama-Huntsville a full conference schedule for 2013-2014. At the very least, they will play some games against WCHA schools and have a spot in the conference tournament even if the conference is unable to give them a full schedule. It wouldn't be the first time that's happened in the WCHA - Minnesota State was the tenth seed during the 3 years between when Northern Michigan departed for the CCHA and the Mavericks became full members.
