Boston College's 5-2 win over Alabama-Huntsville clinched the all-time wins record for head coach Jerry York.
For many, Alabama-Huntsville is among the most forgettable of Division I NCAA hockey programs. But while the Chargers' program may be going away soon, they'll forever be enshrined in the record books as the team that Boston College beat to give head coach Jerry York his record-breaking 925th career win at the Division I level.
The Eagles got three first period goals in the first 12:27 of the game and coasted from there, winning 5-2 in their opening match of the Mariucci Holiday Classic in Minneapolis, MN. Playing without Hobey Baker candidate Johnny Gaudreau, the Eagles got points from every member of their first, second and third lines and Parker Milner stopped 26 shots to earn the win, his 12th of the year.
York's 925th win puts him one win ahead of Ron Mason, who amassed 924 wins in stints behind the bench at Lake Superior State, Bowling Green - where he mentored York - and Michigan State.
