NAHL forward Robbie Payne has committed to play at Northern Michigan
The Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings have announced that forward Robbie Payne has committed to play for Northern Michigan. Payne is a '93 birthdate, meaning he could go to Northern Michigan either next year, or the following year.
Payne was the Jr. K-Wings second leading scorer in their inaugural season last year, tallying 55 points, and has six goals in six games played so far this season. He's a very skilled scoring forward that should fit in well at Northern MIchigan. I had this to say about Payne after seeing him at this year's NAHL Showcase:
Leading the way offensively are Robbie Payne and Kyle Gattelaro, who were second and third in team scoring respectively last year. Payne isn't particularly big or fast, but he scored a beauty of a goal with a heavy snap shot that he got off very quickly from the slot. I did not see many other players capable of scoring that type of goal yesterday.
