Around SBN: Ray Allen Fighting Age, Injury And His New Role

Walters to UNO

Multiple sources are reporting that former Minnesota commit Ryan Walters had decided to join Nebraska-Omaha for next season.

Walters was very interested in playing college hockey next season rather than going back to the USHL, and Nebraska-Omaha had a lot of space to fill. Over the summer, sophomore forward John Kemp, who struggled to get into Omaha academically, left the program, and defenseman Mike Phillippi left UNO to play at D-III Wisconsin-Stevens Point. UNO has also cut ties with a lot of recruits that committed during the Mike Kemp era, including Omaha natives Nick Oddo and Nate Heng, who were expected to be the first local players to play for UNO in the Division I era.
