2010 Central Scouting Final Rankings

Here are the final rankings from NHL Central Scouting.

There's sure to be lots of discussion and controversy about this one since there was some interesting movement at the top. Tyler Seguin moved ahead of Taylor Hall for the top spot. Brett Connolly moved up to third despite not really playing much. Erik Gudbranson moved ahead of Cam Fowler for the top defenseman spot.Calvin Pickard passed Jack Campbell for the top goalie spot, while Canada's other goalie for the U-18s, Kent Simpson, moved into the third spot, up from 7.

As for the college players, Derek Forbort moved into the top 10 at number 9. Nick Bjugstad pretty much stayed in the same spot. Tyler Pitlick continued moving up a couple spots to 18. Notre Dame's Riley Sheahan took a huge slide down from 5 to 22. The issue there, as it is with Pitlick, likely, is whether Sheahan will develop into enough of a scorer to justify that high of a pick. Brock Nelson and Kevin Hayes took a drop as well to what I consider a little more realistic spot. Beau Bennett moved up to near the first round. UMass-Lowell recruit Julian Melchiori is really rising up to the list to the 45th spot.

There's not a lot of other significant movement. Max Gaede jumped up 40 spots. Kevin Lind fell off the face of the earth, dropping 107 spots. Chris Casto finally made the list, albeit at the end, after my lobbying for it all year. A lot of kids going the college route seemed to a drop a couple spots, while some CHL players got bumped up a couple spot.
