Petry Signs with Edmonton

Michigan State defenseman Jeff Petry has officially signed with the Edmonton Oilers. Petry would have had one year of eligibility left with the Spartans. Petry had an up-and-down career with Michigan State, having a great freshman season, struggling as a sophomore, beofre having a very solid junior season.

With Edmonton playing so poorly this year, and not having much in the way of quality defensive prospects, Petry may have an opportunity to step in right away and get some playing time with the big club.
