Schroeder Signs with Vancouver

Minnesota forward Jordan Schroeder officially signed with the Vancouver Canucks today. For much of this year, it seemed like Schroeder had pretty much checked out on the Gophers and was just waiting until he could sign with Vancouver. He's definitely got the physical abilities to make it big in the NHL, but will also have to answer some questions about whether he's got what it takes mentally.

From a gopher fan, i’m sad to see him leave but it’s awesome that he has the opportunity to play pro hockey so young. Like you said, his mental game will be his biggest battle. hopefully when he’s paired with a couple solid finishers he’ll fall back into his rhythm.

Can you elaborate more on what you’ve seen of him this year? The Vancouver rags are saying he had a sub-par year but he was still second in scoring. Did the Gophers have an off year?
