Interest Growing in CC's Testwuide

College hockey doesn't have any big-name free agents this year like Tyler Bozak or Matt Gilroy last year, but that doesn't mean there won't be some undrafted players that garner considerable attention from NHL teams once the season ends.

One player whose play has potentially earned himself an NHL contract after the season is Colorado College's Mike Testwuide, who is drawing attention from NHL teams, including the Anaheim Ducks, who have a history of signing undrafted college players. In recent years, the Ducks have had Chris Kunitz, Ryan Carter, Dan Sexton, and MacGregor Sharp all sign as undrafted free agents and make the NHL.

Testwuide is a bit of an unsung hero on the Tigers team. Higher scoring teammate Bill Sweatt was named to INCH's All-WCHA midway team, but in many ways Testwuide may be the more valuable player. He's not the prettiest player, but he's an absolute beast in the corners, making him an extremely difficult match-up for any team, and he's shown a nice scoring touch, netting 13 goals so far this season.

Was it the Ducks who also signed Stu Bickel after his freshman season?

That is correct, though Bickel has yet to play with the big club.
