Weekend Recap

What Was Good

Ferris State-I thought they were primed for a split with Notre Dame, but they earned two victories with a pair of third period goals on both Saturday and Sunday night. That puts them in a tie for first place in the CCHA, with a home series against first place Miami, where the Bulldogs have yet to lose this year.

Minnesota-Duluth-They had the advantage of being at home, but taking all four points from another team in the top 5 of the league was huge. That vaulted them into second place in a close WCHA race.

Michigan-The Wolverines need to go on a long unbeaten run in the second half, and they got it started with two wins over Western Michigan

North Dakota-Matt St. Frattin picked up his first two points of the year--not counting the points that go on your driving record--and Jason Gregoire scored four goals as North Dakota earned an easy home sweep.

St. Cloud-Took care of business against Michigan Tech

Ohio State-Took care of business against Bowling Green

Alaska vs. Nebraska-Omaha-A hard-fought split in Omaha. That was likely the last time those two will meet in conference play, closing out a nice little rivalry.

Minnesota-It's difficult to figure out why Harvard is so awful this year with that much talent, much like Minnesota. Credit the Gophers for earning a sweep though.

What Wasn't So Good

Miami-How did they get swept by Robert Morris?

Minnesota State-Only three goals on the entire weekend for the alledgedly senior-laden Maverick offense.

Michigan Tech- They're now 0-16-2 in their last 9 trips to St. Cloud.

Colorado College-With North Dakota and Wisconsin charging hard behind them, they can't afford to go 0-fer on a weekend if they want to keep home ice.
