I'll do this one backwards because I have this part done, and I haven't finished my write-ups on all of the teams yet.  You try thinking of something to say about Lake Superior. Maybe an 11-team conference isn't such a bad idea after all. Anyway, here they are:

Player of the Year: Carter Camper, Miami

Goalie of the Year: Bryan Hogan, Michigan

Rookie of the Year: Kyle Palmieri, Notre Dame

Defenseman of the Year: Ian Cole, Notre Dame

Hogan gets the goalie nod because he'll likely play every meaningful minute for Michigan this year, while Miami will probably split time with Reichard and Knapp, and Phillips and Johnson may compete for time at Notre Dame. Alaska's Scott Greenham is a darkhorse, after the amazing numbers he put up in limited action last year.

Cole is a no-brainer, and Palmieri's biggest competition will probably be teammate Riley Sheahan. There's a lot of interesting choices for player of the year, but I've always really liked Camper.

1st Team All-CCHA

F-Carter Camper, Miami

F-Louie Caporusso, Michigan

F-John Albert, Ohio State

D-Ian Cole, Notre Dame

D-Erik Gustafsson, Northern Michigan

G-Bryan Hogan, Michigan

I don't think many people realize John Albert is one of the top returning scorers in the CCHA this year, but he was excellent last season, and impressed at Thrashers camp this summer. Gustafsson is a playmaker, and has been recognized before for these types of things, which always helps when it comes to defensive awards.

2nd Team All-CCHA

F-Pat Cannone, Miami

F-Calle Ridderwall, Notre Dame

F-Mark Olver, Northern Michigan

D-Eddie Del Grosso, Nebraska-Omaha

D-Chris Summers, Michigan

G-Dustin Carlson, Ohio State

Fairly straightforward. Five guys that all know how to put points on the board.

All-Rookie Team

F-Riley Sheahan, Notre Dame

F-Kyle Palmieri, Notre Dame

F-Chris Brown, Michigan

D-Torey Krug, Michigan State

D-Luke Witkowski, Western Michigan

G-Mike Johnson, Notre Dame

It was a bit of a down year in the CCHA for everyone besides Notre Dame in terms of big name prospects. Brown may get bumped by another rookie that scores a little more than he does. Witkowski and Krug will have to show their abilities on weak teams.

No goalies look primed to be full time starters. Johnson will compete with Brad Phillips who missed last season with a knee injury.
