New Commits

Minnesota-Duluth added two prospects for the future. The first is a local in Hermantown High School forward Adam Krause. Krause will be a senior at Hermantown next season. He'll likely play a year of junior hockey post-high school before heading to UMD. The Bulldogs also added Rosemount forward JT Brown. Brown was one of the state of Minnesota's top high school players as a senior two years and was a Mr. Hockey finalist. Injuries slowed him down in his first year of junior hockey, but he was incredibly effective when healthy.

One of the top players from the '93 age group, Cason Hohmann, decided to commit to Boston University. Hohmann, is small, but is a pure scorer. He led the MWEHL in scoring for Compuware last year, and was the leading scorer at this summer's Select 16 Festival.

Colorado College had to add some guys at the last minute thanks to John Moore backing out on his commitment at the last minute. The first is Doug Leaverton, a big defenseman that has seemingly been around forever. The other is BCHL defenseman Mike Boivin, who sounds like a bit of a late-bloomer.

Minnesota picked up three commitments as well. Travis Boyd decided on the Gophers. He's probably the most talented player in the state for his '93 age group, in a pretty deep class. That's a huge pick-up for Minnesota. Boyd was only freshman last season, but he'll likely accelerate his schooling so he doesn't have to play a year in the USHL after aging out of the NTDP program. The other players are the diminutive Reilly twins from Holy Angels. Connor and Ryan are small players, but are both exceptional playmakers.
