Wiercioch Cleared to Play

Denver defenseman Patrick Wiercioch left Saturday's game against Colorado College in the first period with what looked like a pretty serious knee injury, but the word out of Denver today is that he has been cleared to practice and will likely be available to Denver this Friday against Minnesota-Duluth.

The injury was to his left knee, which was not the same knee that he injured earlier this year against Alaska-Anchorage. Regardless, Wiercioch will only skate in Friday's night game against UMD, before taking off for Saskatchewan for Canada's World Juniors tryout camp.

Great news

I just hope he doesn’t try to push himself too much. I’d like to see him on Team Canada, but I’d also like to see him develop into a solid defenseman with good knees for Ottawa in a few years’ time.
