Shameless Promotion

Former Minnesota State defenseman Chad Brownlee has become a rising country music star. He's like the Merle Haggard of defensemen who couldn't really skate that well. He seems pretty good at this stuff though and hopefully he continues making a name for himself.

I usually dont post about PR emails I get, but this looks kind of cool. A group of independent film makers made a documentary called Forgotten Miracle about the 1960 US Olympic gold medal winning team. That US team had some familiar names like Gopher greats John Mayasich and Jack McCartan, the Christian brothers from Warroad, who started their own line of hockey sticks, and former Harvard coaching legend Bill Cleary. While it didn't necessarily have the political implications the 1980 Olympics had, the upset was just as great, if not greater. Here's a link to the movie trailer.

Merle Haggard? Not so much. Maybe Kenny Chesney.

Although I’m sure Merle could deliver a BC two hander with the best of ’em.
