Between the Pipes

In probably the biggest match-up of the weekend, Dan Dunn will start in goal for St. Cloud. Freshman Mike Lee is expected to get the start on Saturday. Lee is one of the last kids I could see getting rattled, but maybe it's not a terrible idea to get his first taste of the atmosphere of the series from the bench to better prepare him for Saturday.

Austin Lee will get the start in goal on Friday night for Minnesota State. No decision has been made about Saturday night yet.

MSU's opponent for this weekend, Bowling Green, has a lot more that hasn't been decided yet. Not only have they not decided on a goalie, forwards James Perkin and Kai Kantola will miss the first game because of a fighting major picked up in BG's last game of last season. Top forward David Solway is a game-time decision with a concussion, and freshmen defensemen Robert Shea and Ian Ruel are still awaiting final clearance from the NCAA.

For Colorado College, Joe Howe will start Friday for the Tigers against Northeastern, who is a bit unsettled in goal as well.

Denver will platoon goalies for at least the first part of the season. Marc Cheverie will start Friday while Adam Murray will start Saturday this weekend against Vermont.
